Aboriginal Art Center
In the morning, we visited an Aboriginal art center called “Burrinja Cultural Centre”. Here, we saw many Aboriginal artworks, such as indigenous paintings, sculptures, and traditional crafts. We learned about the history and culture of the Aboriginal people and listened to the guide’s explanations. My girlfriend said, “Learning about the Aboriginal culture was really interesting and helped us to better understand the diversity of Australian culture.”
Aboriginal Cultural Performance
Later, we watched an Aboriginal cultural performance. The performance included traditional dances, chanting, and the unique Didgeridoo music played by Australian Aboriginal people. The performers wore traditional costumes and gave us a visual and auditory feast. My girlfriend said excitedly, “This performance made me feel the unique charm of Aboriginal culture.”
Aboriginal Food Experience
At noon, we had lunch at an Aboriginal restaurant called “Charcoal Lane”. The restaurant is located in Melbourne and costs about 50 Australian dollars per person. We tasted Australian Aboriginal specialties such as kangaroo meat, crocodile meat, and bush foods. My girlfriend said, “These foods were really special and made me more interested in Aboriginal food culture.”
Hiking to Explore Aboriginal Historical Sites
In the afternoon, we joined a hiking group and followed the guide to explore some Aboriginal historical sites. We visited some ancient rock paintings and ruins and learned about the Aboriginal way of life and history. My girlfriend said emotionally, “These historical sites made us more respectful of the Aboriginal culture on this land.”
Local Special Dinner
In the evening, we had dinner at a local restaurant called “Vue de monde”. The restaurant is located in the city center of Melbourne and costs about 80 Australian dollars per person. We tasted Australian specialties such as grilled meat and fresh vegetable salads. My girlfriend complimented, “The food at this restaurant was really delicious and showcased the unique food culture of Australia.”
Stargazing Activity at Night
After dinner, we participated in a stargazing activity. We followed the guide to an observation point in the suburbs, where we used telescopes to observe the stars and constellations in the Australian night sky. The guide told us about the Aboriginal view of the sky and constellation legends. My girlfriend said excitedly, “Learning about Aboriginal star legends under such a beautiful night sky was really magical. It was an unforgettable experience.”
On this day, we deepened our understanding of Aboriginal culture, history, and way of life in Australia, and felt the charm of this country’s diverse culture. After finishing the day’s itinerary, we looked forward to the next trip to Phillip Island.
